Context
I support an external warehouse management system for a leading aerospace client, from inbound booking to outbound delivery. My role sits between the business users who run the warehouse, operations, and the developers who change the system. Client details stay confidential; the numbers on this page are the ones I can share.
Key Result
A redesigned outbound dispatch process cut physical throughput time by roughly 50%, worth an estimated EUR 30,000 a year. Every planned UAT scenario passed before go-live.
Tools
Warehouse management system · Functional specifications · UAT & release validation · HTML/CSS · Stakeholder coordination
A warehouse system for aerospace parts has little room for error. Every release touches live operations, and every manual step in booking or dispatch is a step where something can be missed, delayed or entered twice.
The recurring pain points were familiar:
Too many manual confirmations in inbound booking
Dispatch steps that took longer than they needed to
Releases that had to land without disrupting the warehouse floor
Dispatch redesign. Conceived and helped implement an optimized outbound dispatch process, cutting physical throughput time by roughly 50%.
One booking screen instead of five. Designed a single-page inbound booking interface that consolidated five separate confirmations into one.
Structured testing. Coordinated user acceptance testing across business, operations and technical stakeholders: 250+ structured pre-test cases and 150+ validated business transactions.
Hands-on go-live. Worked the weekend deployment of a business-critical server migration and stayed through go-live so the warehouse kept running.
Business-IT translation. Functional specifications, release testing, and review of user-facing changes in HTML/CSS. The single point of contact for WMS technical and process questions.
~50% faster physical throughput in outbound dispatch
~EUR 30,000 in estimated recurring annual savings
100% pass rate across all planned UAT scenarios before go-live
5 manual confirmations reduced to 1 in inbound booking
Server migration delivered without disrupting warehouse operations
Most of the value here isn't a tool. It's knowing where a process breaks and making sure a change lands safely in a live warehouse.
